CASP Stories: Birds flocking in Grenfell workshops

Grenfell Artists Inc have been recruiting new and younger members and have started a range of half price workshops to help these emerging local artists to help them discover new skills and explore new mediums.  These workshops are aimed at helping local artists become confident enough to exhibit their work in their newly developed ‘Little Gallery’ in Grenfell.

The weekend of 5-6 May saw the first of four workshops at Grenfell Dramatic Society Hall in Grenfell.  This workshop was facilitated by award winning regional Artist Jennie Forster.  Workshop participants painted their hearts out capturing the beauty of birds in the bush from laughing kookaburras to goofy galahs.

The upcoming workshops include:

  • Saturday 25 May – Watercolour Landscapes Workshop with Pamela Thomson
  • Saturday 29 June – Still Life in Watercolour Workshop with Pamela Thomson
  • Saturday 17 August – Botanical Art in Watercolours with Narelle Thomas

This series of workshops is supported by the NSW Government’s Country Arts Support Program (CASP) through Arts OutWest. The CASP is a devolved funding program coordinated locally by the 15 regional arts development organisations in NSW on behalf of the NSW Government (Via Create NSW). In 2024 eight arts activities across the NSW Central West are sharing in $17,000 in CASP funding for small locally initiated arts activities.
