Supported 2024: ARI gathering
The weekend of 22-24 March  saw over 70 artists and arts workers from across regional lands and urban centres forge friendships and networks, laugh loud, be informed, dream big and plan now in Kandos on Dabee lands in Wiradjuri Country at Groundfloor 2024.

Uncle Peter Swain shared generously with a circle of magic in his Welcome to Country and closing of the event too.  Not a dry eye left the circle. Delicious food, great talks by Artist Run Initiatives (ARIs) and Organisations and fabulous opportunities were taken with the facilitation of meetings between artists, ARIs, and organisations. So much cross pollination in this grassroots-led regional art forum. Seeds for the future include ideas in the making for the next Groundfloor Initiative to be with the gorgeous crew at Broken Hill.

In the circle at the end of the Groundfloor forum on the Sunday morning before the long haul back to as far as Broken Hill, Tasmania and Melbourne and all over regional and urban NSW, participants shared joy with their experiences of weekend including making connections, having fun, understanding more about ARIs and organisations, feeling inspired and making ideas.

This was the second iteration of the forum, with the previous one being held at Elevator ARI in Lismore in 2022.

Congratulations to June Golland and Betty Russ for all their planning and pulling this big thing off with so much cheer.
