The CASP funded project Yarn the Mountain, in Kandos, is off to a great start…. Hanging out near the warm fire in WAYOUT Artspace, playing with wool, having a chat, making things and new friends – sounds truly wonderful.
The next in the four sessions is on September 4.
Leanne Wicks is running the project. She posts:
“11 people attended the inaugural Yarning at WAYOUT Artspace.
Some told stories, some yarned sticks and some pretended to be musketeers – ‘Yarn for one and yarn for all’.
Attendees commented that whilst yarning, ‘I don’t need to worry about anything else’, ‘It was a fun, good yarn’, ‘yarning is calming’ and ‘this was a welcome earthing’.
The yarned sticks will be exhibited until the next Yarn the Mountain gathering on Sunday 4 September 1-4pm.
Thanks to Create NSW and Arts Outwest for funding 4 events.
Thanks also to the yarn queens at Nannas Haberdashery Kandos and the wonderful WAYOUT Wisser Man.”
