This is a busy artistic region. There’s usually more than 2000 arts and heritage events happening in the region each year.

BATHURST REGIONAL ART GALLERY, BATHURST. For ages 8 - 12 years. Taking inspiration from the ADRIENNE DOIG: It's All About Me! exhibition, participants will explore new materials and methods for making artworks including performance, paper based materials and weaving.

School Holidays Workshop – Aboriginal Inspired Fibre Sculptures

Thu January 21

COWRA REGIONAL ART GALLERY, COWRA. In this workshop participants will explore the craft of fibre sculptures, inspired by the woven sculptures by Tjanpi Central Desert Weavers. These artists collect desert grass (tjanpi), wool, raffia and other objects to create quirky animal forms and beautiful baskets.

Kid’s Lapidary Workshop #2 January 2021

BATHURST. Lapidary is the cutting and polishing of minerals, gemstones and rocks to be used for jewellery or display. Kids can learn the skills of cutting and polishing minerals and rocks in a 2-day workshop, with the possibility to set polished stones - all materials and instruction provided.

COWRA REGIONAL ART GALLERY, COWRA. A mosaic is a picture or pattern made by arranging small pieces of stone, tile, glass, and ceramics. In this workshop participants will create their own mosaic mirror artwork.

Have a couple of drinks, bring a couple of friends and take home an amazing piece of artwork. You will have a stencil for the detail (or we can show you how to freehand draw it!).  These pieces is all about layering so no need to worry if this is your first time!
