HARTLEY. OPEN TUES-SUN. The Kew–Y–Ahn Aboriginal Gallery project is a partnership between Arts OutWest, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the NSW Department of Environment and Heritage. Work by local Aboriginal painters, weavers, designers, jewellers and photographers from across the NSW Central West are on show and for sale in rotating exhibitions in the new gallery space.

Central West Artist Antony Symons – Retrospective of a life’s work

This exhibition features the largest body of Antony Symons work ever shown and includes paintings in oil, watercolours, pastel works, etchings, woodcuts and monoprints, in addition to a spectacular group of sculpture in bronze and other materials - many of which were cast using the lost wax method in the artist’s own foundry.

Heather Dunn: Palette of Place displays the work of Bathurst based textile artist Heather Dunn, showcasing her tapestries inspired by the landscape and colours of Hill End. Using dyes created from local organic material, Dunn’s tapestries comprise rich ochres, wattle yellow and subtle shades of green.

Camie Lyons: A Physical Response is a solo exhibition by Camie Lyons which takes inspiration from the physically laborious lives of Hill End’s gold rush era inhabitants. Lyons threw herself into physical making: dragging branches back the Haefligers studio, digging clay, and mark making with sticks, stones and found ochres.
