Orange 412: A history of our local fire brigade

Formed in 1869 after a terrible fire gutted the Nelson Bros warehouse on Byng Street, the Orange Volunteer Fire Brigade – today known as Orange 412 – has a long tradition of serving the community and saving lives.

Join us for a hands-on exploration of the fascinating history of our local fire brigade. This family-friendly exhibition includes kids’ dress-ups, playful storytelling, and an interactive fire truck, alongside stunning images and historical firefighting equipment.

Exhibition: ‘Living on the Land’ by Sue Hodge and David Brown

Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) announces the launch of our inaugural Seasons program, with Season One: Terrestrial.
A world of wonder, magic, and leaps of imagination may be just what it takes to understand the past and reimagine the future. Artists of Season One: Terrestrial explore the terrestrial plane of our planet through the lenses of history, consumer culture, science fiction and fabulism, taking us on a larger-than-life journey through familiar and unfamiliar landscapes. Time fades as we are silenced for a moment to ponder, what do we know about our natural world and how is it that we came to know it?

Gulgong Art Prize 2024 – Unearthed

The Gulgong Arts Council’s annual Art Prize continues in 2024 with a catered opening night and award presentation on Friday 7 June and exhibition open 10-4pm over the Saturday and Sunday of the June long weekend.

Gyan – Songs to Die For

This project arose from all those favourite songs people have requested for their loved ones’ funerals, but ironically it has taken on a life of its own! ARIA award winning artist, GYAN sings for one night only in Gulgong’s heritage Prince of Wales Opera House accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Simon Greaves. Renowned director / choreographer Meryl Tankard AO and visual artist Regis Lansac OAM have come on board to develop the multi-disciplinary theatre performance with the ultimate view to curate a new rare Gyan concept album, called “The Funeral Singer – Songs To Die For”.
