ORANGE REGIONAL CONSERVATORIUM, ORANGE. Lyle Chan's unique AIDS Memoir Quartet is a visceral musical portrait of the peak of the epidemic. Performed by the Acacia String Quartet and narrated by Chan himself, the 90-minute work is a tour-de-force of emotionally powerful music, containing portraits of famous activists now dead, and unusual effects like the use of police whistles to recall street demonstrations by ACT UP, the direct action protest group of which Chan was a core member.
The Sapphires is one of the Australia’s best-loved stories. Winning multiple awards as a play, film and soundtrack album there was one challenge left and that was to undertake a national tour of Australia. Bringing the raw energy, fun and emotion of this story directly to stages like Cowra Civic Centre and across the nation.
Barbaroi is a blend of high octane contemporary circus and exciting physical theatre. It combines daring acrobatics, aerials & phenomenal circus acts set against a pumping soundtrack complimented by finely tuned lighting and special effects. The Barbaroi will leave audiences young and old holding their breath and on the edge of their seat. Welcome to the five star award winning cyberpunk circus showdown that is Barbaroi!
Over the 2022 October long weekend Bathurst will hum to a different sound. From Saturday 1 to Monday 3 October the sounds of piano will ring out over the landscape, with a program that is inspired by place, by culinary delights, by visual art, by collaborative passion for sharing the delight that music can achieve.
