Exhibition Opening – Sandon Gibbs-O’Neill: Burruguu

Orange Regional Gallery 149 Byng Street, Orange, NSW

Nhunggabarra artist Sandon Gibbs-O’Neill presents a series of new paintings developed in dialogue with the traditional stories and paintings of his grandfather Tex Skuthorpe, a significant Nhunggaburra artist from Nhunggal country in north western NSW. The title ‘Burruguu’ means time of creation in Nhunggal language.

Sophie Lampert: Anon

Orange Regional Gallery 149 Byng Street, Orange, NSW

Sophie Lampert presents large-scale soft sculptures that celebrate the lives and atypical vocations of brilliant women throughout history. Using delicate beading, sequins and velvet she reimagines the unusual stories and successes into otherworldly sculptures—figures representing past lives that should be revisited and admired.
