Next Gen Portrait Prize

Mudgee Arts Precinct is the newest regional gallery in Australia. Comprising brand new, state-of-the-art gallery spaces, it will display predominantly contemporary art with a connection to the Mid-Western region. It also houses Mudgee Region Tourism and a cafe. Open seven days.
This exhibition will run as a satellite show in the upstairs gallery spaces at Mudgee Arts Precinct in conjunction with the Inaugural MAP Portrait Prize 2022.
MAP received nearly 400 entries for the inaugural MAP Portrait Prize. MAP Portrait Prize was open to submissions in all media to artists at any level of their artistic practice from beginners right through to arts professionals encouraged to enter.
This February, a variety of events and activities will be held during the Mid-Western Seniors Festival to celebrate the incredible seniors in our community.
Local artists, crafters, writers and photographers have entered their works in the Seniors Festival Competition which are now on display at the Mudgee Arts Precinct until 19 February.
Community open day on Saturday 11 February so everyone can come and see this fantastic new facility for themselves and join in for some creative fun!!!
Working the Waters takes its cue from the multiple modes of human engagement with the waters on the planet. With an emphasis on the folly and resultant disasters of human psychology Working the Waters combines installation and immersive video to explore the liminal zone of the pedosphere where human action and water meet.
