Named for the phenomena “Superbloom” in which the desert landscape, having received an unusual season of rain, explodes in carpets of colour and flowers. So too is Superbloom an explosion of sensory overload. Immersing audiences in a magical and musical “Superbloom” – of rare works for unaccompanied voices, each piece draws parallels between the stark beauty of the arid desert and the lush abundance brought by the wet season.

Captivating audiences with adventurous programming for 40 years, Australia’s world-class vocal ensemble The Song Company, will deliver an unforgettable experience that celebrates both the resilience of the desert and the creativity of the human spirit. From Hildegard von Bingham’s O nobilissima viriditas, to the world premiere of Jane Sheldon’s Blumenmuskel, Superbloom and The Song Company never misses a beat.

With Guest Director: Jane Sheldon, The Song Company performing Superbloom are: Susannah Lawergren & Amy Moore, Sopranos; Jessica O’Donoghue, Mezzo-Soprano; Timothy Reynolds, Tenor; Hayden Barrington, Baritone; Andrew O’Connor, Bass-Baritone

“This is a gilt-edged performance from The Song Company.”

“Surrounded in serene wonder: one of music’s great experiences”
