Sunny and inspiring annual meeting
A behind-the-scenes tour, some inspirational presentations, good chats and an excellently functioning board made up our 2016 AGM in Orange.
The Arts OutWest AGM is always a great afternoon for catching up with your regional arts organisation and other creatives from the region. And yet again we had splendid sunny weather (thanks Orange for holding off on the snow).
The 2016 meeting was held on Sunday 29 May in Orange, starting with a tour of the Orange Regional Gallery and the new Orange Regional Museum. Guests then re-gathered at Duntryleague for presentations from Orange Regional Arts Foundation, The Corner Store Gallery, Colour City Creatives and Orange Youth Arts Festival – inspiring stuff for the crowd that came from across the region.
Guests enjoyed a catch up – and meeting a few new faces – over lunch.
A short AGM itself gave time for Arts OutWest executive director Tracey Callinan to recap another busy year in regional arts development and for the 15 member board to be formally appointed for another year.
New board members 2016-17:
Our three elected members Kylie Shead (Creative Producer Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre), Bronwyn Giovenco (Lifeline Central West) and Libby Oldham (owner/ director Jayes Gallery) were returned to the Board.
We said farewell to Cr Jess Jennings (Bathurst), Cr Graham Falconer (Forbes), Cr Maree Statham (Lithgow), Elizabeth Matthews (Parkes) and Dr Barb Hill (CSU) and thanked them for their contributions.
