Closes 2 June 2023 for June long weekend.  The scarecrows will be displayed in the Gulgong streets throughout the Henry Lawson Heritage Festival.

June long weekend will soon be here and we invite everyone to participate by making a scarecrow for the Gulgong Scarecrow Stroll.  The scarecrows will be displayed in the Gulgong streets throughout the Henry Lawson Heritage Festival.  We would love to see our local businesses and our schools join the fun as well. This year we have a special category just for the schools and there is no limit on how many entries can be submitted.

2023 will mark the 5th successive year of the Gulgong Scarecrow Stroll (hosted by Arts Council Gulgong Inc.) because YOU the community have done such a fabulous job participating.

This year the categories are RECYCLED, HUMOROUS and a section for our SCHOOLS.  We do encourage all the schools to enter.  The prize for each category is $250 and there will also be a PEOPLES’ CHOICE Award of $300.  These great prizes are sponsored by Moolarben Coal.

Presentation of prizes will take place at the Memorial Hall on Sunday 11th June at 11am.  While there, you can browse through the ‘Unearthed’ Art Exhibition which is also hosted by Arts Council Gulgong Inc.

We urge all scarecrow makers to get busy: Grab some supplies, get your kids involved and get creative. Entries will close Friday 2nd June.  The entry fee is only $10!
