Regional Arts Development Central West NSW

Regional Futures project looking for artists

NOW CLOSED. EOIs close 28 March 2022. Arts OutWest is seeking Expressions of Interest from creatives across all art forms in our region to be commissioned to undertake a creative development of a new work for a state-wide project.

Artists are asked to respond to the prompt ‘What does the future look like for your region?’

Arts OutWest is particularly interested in artists whose work explores sense of place, their environment – focusing on the NSW Central West – and issues associated with their local environment.

Regional Futures is a state-wide project of the NSW Regional Arts Network involving artists from across regional NSW. Each Regional Arts Development Organisation (RADO) will be contributing to this project and this call out for Expressions of Interest is to select who from our region we include.

The project runs 2022 to 2023 and has been devised by the NSW Regional Arts Network of 14 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs)

One artist from the Arts OutWest region will be selected.

The selected artists across the state will be commissioned to undertake a creative development of a new work. An artist fee of $3 000 is offered for Stage 1 of the Regional Futures commissioning process.

There will be an online program that will bring together thought leaders in creative practice to engage in conversations that inspire, challenge and extend.

And then the launch of the Regional Futures project website will highlight the work of each commissioned artist.  This digital platform provides the opportunity to document and share the creative process, to dig deeper into the conversations and interchange between artists and their project partners.  It is as much a home for the works created as other platforms for presentation such as exhibition or performance.
