Out of the Studio artists went on an excursion to Portland this week visiting three extraordinary studios at The Foundations with generous talks by:
- Harrie Fasher whilst she was in the thick of creating work with three studio assistants on this day in The Portland Foundry and Harrie Fasher studios in the lead up to her Before Dawn exhibition opening at Orange Regional Gallery 28 November 2025.
- Ellen Ferrier winding up her six months Artist-in-Residence stay at The Bathhouse and
- Aiya Dreaming, creating with abandon as part of The Squatter’s Artist in Residence program at The Squatter’s Cottage.
The day started in The Annexe, The Foundations where the group were wowed by both the curation and the contemporary art on display as part of The Creative Foundations Alumni Exhibition 1. This exhibition continues this weekend 1-2 November as part of the Lithgow Arts Trail.
Returning to The Annexe at the end of the excursion the Out of the Studio artists continued their practice of show and tell, sharing where they were up to with their works and projects from murals in motion to textiles in progress.
