Our Media Associates are capturing the region
See some of the beautiful images they’ve gathered from local arts events and recent Arts OutWest projects.
In 2019 we started a program called the Media Associates – photographers and digital storytellers in each part of the region tasked with capturing both Arts OutWest activities and the great local arts scene.
Here’s a selection of the images they’ve gathered in so far… more to come – and make sure you follow us on Facebook for lots more.
Carolyn Hide visited a session of the Oberon Art Group at the Oberon MPS, a project of Arts OutWest and Oberon Arts Council with the Oberon MPS:
Kerry Fragar (Perspective Photography) headed to Arts OutWest’s funding workshop in Orange in August:
On the first weekend in September Dean Whitting headed out to explore the Bathurst Arts Trail:
In June Judith Unger attended the very special Back to Bulgandramine Gathering:
Judith Unger also went along to the annual Peak Hill Arts and Crafts Exhibition:
Judith Unger captured the day at the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing at The Dish, Parkes. Images: Face painting, visitors explore The Dish and Sean James Cassidy’s digital image artwork:
Judith has been especially busy. We also sent her to Parkes Hospital to meet up with our arts and health coordinator Christine McMillan who demonstrated the new interactive touchscreens that Arts OutWest helped develop as part of the arts and culture program at the hospital:
Another lovely Arts OutWest arts and health project is our weekly choir at the Bathurst Seymour Centre for clients and carers who use the service. It’s led by our own Tracey Callinan (here on the piano accordion – she’s very multi-talented). Alan Sadlier captured these images:
And everyone has been talking about the fantastic new Grenfell Eagle sculpture by Kathleen McCue. The pictures by Helen Carpenter were our most popular ever Facebook post:
