Play the Game: 100 Years of the Astley Cup

In 1923, Dubbo businessman, Lawrence Astley, donated a cup to promote sporting competition between local schools, Dubbo High School and Sacred Heart College. With disparate enrolment numbers, the schools were mismatched and just two years later competition was formalised between the three state schools west of the Blue Mountains – Bathurst, Orange, and Dubbo High Schools.

The Birds of Australia STORYBOX

A new digital, outdoor installation from the Australian Museum showcasing the incredible world of Australia's birdlife is coming to Orange Regional Museum. Presented on an interactive storytelling cube, The Birds of Australia STORYBOX brings to life the iconic bird illustrations of John and Elizabeth Gould together with First Nations storytelling and knowledges.

Community Consultation Workshop

Inspired by our Ancestor Wall and the many stories to discover in our Inherit exhibition, children are invited to talk with their accompanying adult and listen a story from their life. They will then be able to create an illustration of that story using water colours and ink.

Capturing the Homefront

Forty-nine stunning framed photographs reproduced from national and international collections reveal the remarkable parallels between Australia and the USA during the Pacific war including in industry, family life, the role of women and Japanese internment.
