New Arts Health Network NSW/ACT
The newly formed Arts Health Network NSW/ACT will be launched at a special event in Sydney on October 21.
Arts OutWest’s arts and health coordinator Christine McMillan has been involved in the development of this network.
On Monday 21 October, 6-7.30 pm (CPC Auditorium, Sydney University) leading socially-engaged artist Vic McEwan, arts health academic Prof Clive Parkinson (Manchester, UK) and leading Aboriginal health researchers Akeshia Dart and Dr Nicole Reilly, will showcase current work demonstrating how creative practices can have transformative effects on health. An open forum exploring arts and health practices across the State will follow.
The Network has a website and blog that you can subscribe to: https://www.artshealthnetwork.com.au/
The purpose of the blog is to inform people about possible jobs, projects, funding opportunities and new publications, tools and other research and practice knowledges and resources. It is also a space for musing, reflection, collaborative learning and debate. Contributions are warmly encouraged from practitioners (artists and healthcare workers), patients, carers, and all the diverse people who care about the creative arts in health.
Please note the event is free but you do need to register.
