NAIDOC Art Exhibition in Oberon celebrates keeping the fire burning …

NAIDOC Oberon-21

The NAIDOC Art Exhibition celebrating NAIDOC week 7-14 July 2024 is now open and continues until Thursday 18 July at Oberon Library & Community Centre, 74A Dart Street, Oberon.

This year saw twice as many entries as last year, the first year Oberon Council has organised this exhibition.  The exhibition was beyond capacity celebrating this year’s NAIDOC week theme ‘keep the fire burning! Blak, loud and proud’ which celebrates the unyielding spirit of Indigenous communities.

Elloura 13 years old gave a hearty Acknowledgement of Country and the exhibition was opened by Oberon Mayor Cr Mark Kellam. Oberon Council acknowledged the Wiradjuri, Gundungurra & Darug people as the traditional custodians of the land in the Oberon Region and thanked Oberon Aboriginal Community Group and all the local artists.

Works are for sale.
