Sunday 6 March, 4pm at The Bling Pig Orange. Free event. The Next in our paired back, acoustic Live & Kicking sessions.
When Kris Schubert first visited New Orleans he left his heart behind in that Louisiana city, but brought back its melting pot of musical culture in the depths of his soul. Those influences have been flowing out of him into songs he has been writing for his band The Safety of Life at Sea.
Kris has also been carving out a space for himself in the world of production at his purpose built Studio “The Boatshed” in O’Connell. He produced the band’s latest album there “Let The River Go” which encapsulates the catchy grooves of Motown and Stax coupled with some southern acoustic stompers and blues. He has also produced two successful compilation albums featuring the talents of various artists from across the Central West.
A multi-instrumentalist, Kris’s creations come forth at the piano, guitar or whatever comes to hand when inspiration arrives. In this very special Live & Kicking show Kris will perform his songs stripped down to their raw organic state, with a whole lot of soul for your listening pleasure.
Come and catch Kris Schubert at The Blind Pig Cocktail Bar & Sound Lounge for a very intimate Sunday afternoon session of original live music. You won’t be able to live stream or download it, you’ve gotta be there to experience it.
Arts OutWest is pleased to present in conjunction with The Blind Pig a series of Live & Kicking shows featuring the original music of artists from the Central West. Live & Kicking gigs are supported by the Australian Government’s Live Music Australia.
