Sophie Jones has been appointed the regional music coordinator covering the NSW Central West (and beyond).

MusicNSW are delighted to welcome Dave Burgener, Ali Buckley, Kayne Mills, Sam Rees and Sophie Jones, to MusicNSW as the new regional team, to lead regional music development across the state.

Following a search that began in November 2022, five music professionals now join the MusicNSW team with a remit to deliver development opportunities and work to expand touring circuits across regional NSW. The newly-created roles have been made possible thanks to Create NSW following a landmark four-year funding commitment.

Dave, Ali, Kayne, Sam and Sophie, have already hit the ground running and, will lead MusicNSW’s regional development work over the next four years. They will build capacity and relationships between local industry and artists, and will provide on-the-ground support for regional musicians, venues and live music professionals to grow regional touring.

Sophie Jones is using the Arts OutWest office as a base and is supported by our team. Her remit covers the Arts OutWest, Outback Arts and West Darling Arts areas (see the purple area on the map at the bottom of the page) and she works 2 days per week. Arts OutWest are delighted to again support MusicNSW and the regional music officers.
