Love Live Music but can’t get to gigs cause you’re too young or you’re putting the kids to bed? Here’s your chance to have your shot at some hip hop, funk n soul and RnB at the family friendly time of 4pm on Saturday 22 October at The Union Theatre in Lithgow.

Presented as part of Arts OutWest regional Live & Kicking program the show brings together three high energy acts from across the Central West.

Getting the party started are Riley & Ah-See, a dynamic hip hop duo from Dubbo. Anthony Riley & Brian Ah-See were both born into musical families and have been performing in bands for most of their lives.

“These two fell in love with hip hop as boys in baggy set pants and high tops now they use their love of hip hop to connect with audiences and to help revitalise their mother tongue, Wiradjuri,” said Arts OutWest’s music industry officer Patrick Coomey.

Another dynamic duo on this bill is Jaffer from Orange, consisting of the funk soul brothers Luke and Zac Ferguson.

“Luke’s giant hands create a funky fluidity on the bass that can get anyone into a groove whilst Zac’s syncopation keeps it all chugging along. This combined with Luke’s vocals which can go from a whisper to a roar it’s like you’re taking a journey on a soul train,” Mr Coomey said.

Luke Ferguson. has been an in-demand Bass session player especially with producer Anthony Lycenko playing on recordings for artists Pete Murray and Busby Marou. He has also toured nationally with his band and appeared at major festivals including Blues Fest, Woodford folk festival, Splendour in the Grass

Hometown hero JQues Alamod is going to make a special appearance bringing his positive vibrations to the stage performing a few of his choice R&B tunes to bring this Live & Kicking show to a big finish.

This is an all-ages alcohol free event.
