Helping Hands

SBM AOW Helping Hands

Tuesday 24 October, 1-3pm, Forbes. A free workshop to help arts, heritage and creative groups find and keep volunteers.

‘Helping Hands’ is delivered by Monica Davidson from CreativePlusBusiness. The workshop is tailored specifically volunteer based groups and not-for-profits in the arts and museums sector, volunteer led events, or those who rely on volunteers in what they do.

The free workshop is part of the NSW Government’s official Small Business Month, supported by regional arts development organisation Arts OutWest.

Recruiting and retaining volunteers is critically important for small arts and cultural organisations, but it can also be difficult for under-resourced groups without the capacity for a recruitment strategy.

This HELPING HANDS workshop focuses on finding creative and realistic ways of recruiting and retaining volunteers while also working with the issues of limited capacity and resources, time and money.

Monica Davidson is an award-winning expert on the creative industries. She’s a creative trailblazer who advocates, mentors, donates, educates and advises within Australia’s creative economy. Monica continues to work as a writer, filmmaker and occasional performer.
