
Entries close midnight Monday 14 August 2023. The Galah Regional Photography Prize has been created to encourage excellence in contemporary photography from regional Australia.
The intention of the Prize is to celebrate, support and advance the practice of regional photographers.
Joining Galah on the judging panel are Susi Muddiman, Director of the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre in Murwillumbah, and Tamara Dean, a critically acclaimed Australian photo media artist whose work has been exhibited in public and private collections in Europe, America and across Australia.
The judging panel will choose approximately 40 finalists across two photography categories: an Open category and a Student category (for Year 11 & 12 students). One winner will be announced for each category.
Open prize winner receives $25,000
Student prize winner receives $2,500
Entries for the 2023 Galah Regional Photography Prize close midnight Monday 14th August 2023. To be eligible, you must live in regional Australia. Our definition of ‘regional’ is most of Australia outside of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Eligible postcodes can be found here.
