Regional Arts Fund is now open

Applications for the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund (RAF) Project Grants are open.

The Project Grants will fund high-quality arts projects benefitting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences and communities. The focus of the project could include any area of creative practice, multiple art forms or cross-disciplinary practice. Apply for up to $30,000.

Regional Arts Fund (RAF) Project Grants will close on Monday, 15 August 2022 at 5pm.

Creative Capital: Minor Works and Equipment (round two)
Closes 8 August 2022. From Create NSW.  Grants will be available to fund new infrastructure or to upgrade existing cultural infrastructure to make existing spaces fit for purpose. Communities will benefit with fit-for-purpose, high performing museums, theatres, performance spaces, galleries, Aboriginal Cultural Centres, Keeping Places and language centres across NSW. More

Youth Opportunities
Closes 8 August 2022. NSW program. Up to $1.5 million funding is available for new Youth Opportunities projects to commence in 2023. More

Blayney Community Financial Assistance
Closes 10 August 2022. For groups which needs extra funding. More

2022 Transport Heritage Grants
Closes 9 August 2022. Aims to help the NSW community rediscover the culture, events and people that shaped transport over the past 160 years, as well as assist with the restoration and conservation of NSW’s valuable heritage assets. More

Regional NSW Business Case and Strategy Development
Closes 24 August 2022.​​​​​​The $24 million fund supports local councils, joint organisations of councils, not-for-profit, industry and Aboriginal community groups. More

First Nations Creators Program
Closes 25 August 2022.​​​​​​Screen Australia’s First Nations Department and Meta Australia are pleased to announce that the First Nations Creators Program for Instagram is returning in 2022. More

Create NSW Arts and Cultural Funding Program
Round 1 closes 29 August 2022.
 For arts and cultural organisations, professional artists and arts/cultural workers across a wide range of artforms and disciplines.

NAB Foundation Community Grants 2022
Closes 31 August 2022. 

Museums & Galleries NSW: Dobell Exhibition Grants
Financial assistance towards the development of new, curated exhibitions of visual arts at regional galleries in New South Wales. The program aims to support high quality exhibitions that speak to a broad audience across NSW. Closes 1 September 2022More

Windmill Trust Scholarship for Regional NSW Artists Closes 4 September 2022. From NAVA. The $10,000 can be used to cover costs like studio rent, travel, materials, professional development, exhibiting or to take the time and space to develop your career in new directions.

Australia Council Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups
Closes 6 September 2022
. This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences. Grants are available from $10,000 to $50,000. More

Australia Council Contemporary Music Touring Program
Closes 6 September 2022. The tour must comprise of performances in at least three venues or locations outside of the performer’s hometown. Tours that include regional and remote destinations, or which assist performers residing in regional and remote areas to tour, are a priority for funding. More

Australia Council Fellowships (all art forms)
Closes 6 September 2022. Australia Council Fellowships of $80,000 support outstanding, established artists’ or arts workers’ creative activity and professional development for a period of up to two years. More

Australia Council International Engagement Fund
Closes 6 September 2022. Supports a range of activity that fosters people-to people connections; creates opportunities for cultural exchange and knowledge sharing; and showcases Australian creativity, culture and identity internationally. More

Ian Potter Cultural Trust
Closes 6 September 2022. Considering international professional development?  Grants support emerging artists of any medium to undertake travel and develop their practice. More

Volunteer Museum Grants: Project Development Grants.
$2500 – $7500. Closes 11 September 2022. More

Museums & Galleries NSW: Small Grants
To meet the short-term, collection-based requirements of community museums. There are no set categories for funding, and applications for a broad range of projects will be considered. Round 2 closes 11 September 2022. More.

The Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund
Support opportunities for Australian writers and visual artists to create new work; for professional development and mentoring; and to raise the profile of the artist. Round 2 closes 26 September 2022. More

Mazda Foundation 2022 Grants.
Closes 30 September 2022. 

2022 NATIONAL REGIONAL ARTS FELLOWSHIPS  Opens 1 September. Closes Friday 30 September 2022. The Fellowships Program is an investment in the development of artistic and creative practice.

Regional Events Acceleration Fund Round Two
Closes 4 October 2022. The NSW Government’s Regional Events Acceleration Fund aims to support the social and economic recovery of our regions after the devastating effects of floods, drought, bushfires and COVID-19. More

Australia Council: Playing Australia Project Investment
Supports performing arts tours to reach regional and remote communities across Australia.
Closes Tuesday 11 October 2022, 3pm AEDT for projects starting after 1 January 2023. More 

Museums & Galleries NSW: Skills Development Grants
Funding to volunteer museums and museum networks for regional or state focused skill development training and networking events. There are no set categories for funding, and applications for a broad range of projects will be considered. Closes 30 October 2022More

Museums & Galleries NSW: Leg Up Grants
Closing 30 October 2022 or when funds are exhausted. Quick response skill development grants for workers in volunteer managed museums throughout NSW. More

Regional Arts Fund Quick Response Grants
delivered monthly from February to November. To support immediate need that arises where the activity is unable to be planned for or supported in other funding rounds, for example taking up professional development, skills development or small project opportunities at short notice. Individuals can apply for up to $3000, organisations can apply for up to $5000. There is no minimum grant amount. More

Balnaves Foundation Grants
This program aims to support eligible organisations that create a better Australia through education, medicine and the arts with a focus on young people, the disadvantaged and Indigenous Australia. No closing date. More

Thinking about using a ‘auspicing body’ of ‘funds manager’?
Individuals, partnerships, groups and unincorporated organisations (auspicees) seeking funding sometimes use another incorporated auspicing organisation (auspicor) to apply for funding on their behalf. Sometimes this is also called a ‘funds manager’. What is an auspice and how does it work?.
