Rosby Wines have announced their highly anticipated 2023 artistic program. The annual art workshop program has been held at Rosby for well over a decade, bringing highly sought-after tutors to the region. The classes are hugely successful year on year with each of the events being sold-out successes year on year.

The artistic program, a drawcard for visitors to Mudgee and locals from the region, offers something to suit all interests and level of experience from amateurs to art aficionados.

Highlights of the art workshop program include returning favourites: Limestone Carving led by Damien Lucas, Pen and Ink Masterclass with Stephen Hall, Beginners Guide to Welding with Maurice Berry, Spiritual Painting with David Newman-White and Landscapes with Peter Griffen.

Brand new in 2023 is the welcoming of a brand-new tutor, Michael Bourke, who will lead a workshop on Surrealism Painting. Bourke was the star of Art by Michael Bourke, the highly regarded solo exhibition held at the Mudgee Arts Precinct in 2022.

Rosby Art Workshop Director, Kay Norton-Knight is excited about the line-up of workshops on offer and the quality of each of their tutors, with the new program boasting “an impressive line-up of courses that are all artist-led by highly accomplished artists and tutors”. The program sees a mix of old favourites and fresh new faces and pays homage to the rise in experiential and immersive travel.

Rosby’s 2023 art program has been curated for those seeking a more holistic and immersive approach to art with many spots filled each year by returning guests who are devotees of the workshops.

Each workshop aims to challenge convention, leaving guests feeling inspired to push themselves creatively. With a country-style lunch to complement the workshops and a cellar door close by, Rosby is offering participants a rounded and truly unique experience. “Whether you’re a proficient artist seeking an art retreat to inspire you and bolster your skillset, or a group of travellers looking to relax and try your hand at something new, the workshops offer an unparalleled experience at Mudgee’s premier art destination”, says Norton-Knight.

Rosby Wines also offers onsite accommodation. The luxury guesthouse and studio sleep up to twelve guests, making the classes perfect for large groups of friends or family and visitors to the Mudgee Region.

In addition to the workshop program, Rosby will host a range of art exhibitions in the recently opened Rosby Gallery throughout the year, featuring emerging and established artists from around New South Wales. The calendar of exhibitions will lead to Rosby’s major annual art event in October, Sculptures in the Garden, the iconic outdoor sculpture exhibition.  With phenomenal year-on-year growth, this not-for-profit event is now in its thirteenth year and is Regional NSW’s largest exhibition of its kind, drawing well known artists from all around Australia.

As the co-founder and curator of the event, Norton-Knight promises an event that will be bigger and better than ever, with “something for everyone”.
