WOMEN IN SONG: Corn Nut Creek + Smith & Jones + Genni Kane.

Corn Nut Creek
Bound together through sisterhood with a spiritual connection to nature, Danielle Vita and Tanya Bradley are storytellers whose original songs draw upon the traditions of Appalachian music. They were finalists and awarded Jurors Top Five in the 2020 Blues and Roots Radio International Song Competition. Danielle also took first place prize in the vocal category of the 2020 Deer Creek Fiddler’s Convention (USA). Tanya is a highly respected multi-instrumentalist who has performed across various genres all over Australia and overseas. They are releasing their first full-length album in early 2023, followed by an Australian tour.
Genni Kane has been writing songs and performing them for over 40 years. She first found her feet as a songwriter with the legendary 80’s band Flying Emus. It was during this time that Genni discovered a love of writing in her own voice; writing about what she knew and experienced every day.
Smith & Jones are a Bathurst based duo & Victoria favourites, made up of keyboard player/vocalist Abby Smith, and guitarist/vocalist Sophie Jones. Their work is centred around the intersection of womanhood and identity within regional areas, with a dedication to artistic leadership, community engagement and creative integrity.
