Wednesday Book Club

Wed 29 November at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join Wednesday book club this month to read “The Crane Husband” by Kelly Barnhill, a disconcerting tale inspired by the Japanese folklore, “The Crane Wife”. Pick up a copy today at Parkes Shire Library.

A fiercely pragmatic teenager is forced to grow up faster than is fair to do whatever it takes to protect her family when her mother brings home a six-foot tall crane with a menacing air.

Utterly enchanted and numb to his sharp edges, her mother abandons the world around her to weave the masterpiece the crane demands.
