Boom International Festival of Percussion and Orana Arts is proud to present a weekend of high-energy music for audiences in the Central West with three performances coming to Wellington, Geurie and Gulgong, starting Friday evening 31 March. Acts include Polymorphic Orkestra* in Wellington on Friday evening (supported by sound artist Kim V. Goldsmith of Goldsmith’s Studio) and Waldo Fabian** will be performing in Geurie and Gulgong, Sat 1 and Sun 2 April respectively. We’re just putting finishing touches to the details – more soon including ticketing, but we want you to put these dates in your calendar – NOW!
* Polymorphic Orkestra is an art music ensemble producing improvised music using a mix of traditional instruments, media technology, audio FX and pre-recorded audio stem data; rhythmic and melodic and constructed during performances. Individually the members of Polymorphic Okestra are well-respected artists active in contemporary new music, jazz, world music and occasionally found in the orchestra pit or in commercial recording sessions.
** Waldo Fabian has been described as a “kick-arse” bass player, songwriter, and producer working across Latin, jazz Latin and Latin pop and pop styles, working with some of Australia’s top musicians.
