Varuna Regional Writing Workshops: Poetry Writing with Mark O’Flynn
Sat 24 April - Sun 25 April
Varuna the National Writer’s House brings a series of short, themed writing workshops to Lithgow and Bathurst in March and April. Three accomplished Australian authors will deliver a half-day session of technical tips and expert insight on their specialised area, including writing history, short story writing and poetry.
Varuna the National Writers’ House next regional writing workshop is ‘Writing Poetry’, to be held at Tremain’s Mill on April 24 and 25. In this workshop, poet and author Mark O’Flynn will deliver a lively, accessible session, to extend your understanding and approach to working in the poetic medium.
Using examples from established poets, participants will explore sensory stimuli and extend technique, using writing exercises linked with poems and real-world experience. Build poetic possibility and discover new ways to source and harness inspiration, to develop your own ideas to take away and create.
The workshops are open to everyone; numbers are strictly limited. To book your spot for ‘Poetry Writing with Mark O’Flynn check the Varuna website or facebook.
