FILM DESCRIPTIONS:

DOG’S TO THE RESCUE: 30 minutes Australia Meet some very special dogs who are going above and beyond to serve and protect. Bear, Spot and Zacc are all proving themselves to be very good boys. Heroes coming to the rescue when man and Koala’s are most in need. Utilising their specialised training and in Spot’s case his natural instincts these three very special dogs are ready and willing to come to the rescue. Bear the kollie from the Sunshine Coast was rescued from a dog shelter and trained by the team at Sunshine Coast University to help scientists locate Koalas for research. When the 2019 fires decimated much of Kangaroo Island, Bear was called upon to use his special skills to help find the injured wildlife giving them a second chance at life.

OLD FRIENDS: 40 minutes USA Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Mount Juliet, Tennessee was founded by Zina & Michael Gooden. Together with their amazing staff, and the gang of one hundred plus senior pooches, they parade from their old home into a brand new 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, funded completely by Facebook donations. Old Friends is a one-of-a-kind dog sanctuary especially for senior dogs. For everyone who’s been lucky enough to love a senior pup, this film will resonate deeply with this special type of bond you know to be true.

ADVENTURE FLOOF: 4 minutes Canada Rodney’s not much of an adventure dog. But he wants to be. Living in North Vancouver, he’s got all the outdoor opportunities he could possibly needs! Come along for the ride as he makes his way around North Vancouver, taking inspiration from his buddies Moss, Moka, Hunter and friends, getting involved in paddleboarding, mountain biking, dirt biking, hiking, trail running, and climbing!

THE RACE : 9 minutes Greenland On the western coast of Greenland, a young boy dreams of winning the national championship of dog sledding, an ancient form of transportation which has turned into a highly competitive sport. For thousands of years the sled dog has shaped the life of the Inuit people. Today, global and local changes are threatening the future of the sled dog in Greenland, and the unique culture surrounding it. ‘The Race’ is a portrait of 13 year-old Nick, who’s stepping into the sport of dog sledding for the very first time. His story is joined by 72 year-old race legend Ville Siegstad, whose life has inspired many young sled dog mushers

2 DOGS, 1 CROSSING: 19 minutes France Join Jack the Husky and Texas the Jack Russell on a crossing of the European alpine range known as the Pyrenees. Together with their humans they travel from West to East for more than 800km on foot.
