So, you want a pet dinosaur? The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum’s latest exhibition is a dinosaur pet shop with answers to all the important dino-pet concerns.
Keeping a ferocious T. rex or an enormous Diplodocus in your backyard might be a bit too difficult, too dangerous or just completely impossible. With a T.rex out of the question, what other dinosaurs are suitable as a pet?
For the responsible dinosaur owner there are lots of things to think about before you choose your dinosaur.
What will would you feed it? How big will it grow? What shelter will it need? How will you keep it safe and most importantly how will you keep everyone else safe?
With a junior Stegosaurs, Utahraptor or Monolophosaurus you could pat, the exhibition will help answer the question ‘If I had a real dinosaur what dinosaur would I choose?’ You may even find out that you already have one.
The Dino-store is on display at the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum, 224 Howick Street Bathurst.
Open 6 days per week 9am – 4.30pm (closed Wednesday). Open 7 days during NSW School holidays. The exhibition is included with Museum admission.
The What’s On calendar covers arts and heritage events happening across the NSW Central West in the local government areas of Bathurst Region, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western Region, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin.
