The TAFE Statement – Introduction to Ceramics is about to commence on the Bathurst Campus. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the foundations of ceramics with Bathurst artist Joel Tonks. You will explore wheelforming, handforming, glazes and the firing process while developing ideas in ceramics. The course is part time and will run over 4 weeks on a Saturday Saturday 20th & 27th February Saturday 6th & 13th March 9.30am – 1.30pm COURSE DESCRIPTION: Throughout this course, you will learn the foundations of ceramic studio art practice, in a supportive and professional environment. You will explore skills and techniques such as basic wheel forming, design, mould making, and hand forming. In developing ideas for project work, you will refine technical and conceptual skills through a process of experimentation and practice. Teachers will demonstrate a wide range of specific techniques and skills so that you can unlock your creativity with clay.
