SWF Live & Local: Barrie Cassidy & Friends: State of the Nation

Sun 28 May at 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free entry
Barrie Cassidy and Friends talk about the State of the Nation over the past year.

A SWF Live & Local event live-streamed to Orange Regional Gallery Theatre, hosted by Orange City Library.

Barrie Cassidy assembles pundits Katharine Murphy, Niki Savva and Laura Tingle, to unpick the past year in Australian politics.

Relive all the thrills and spills of the year in Australian politics with veteran journo Barrie Cassidy and his hand-picked squad of the country’s sharpest pundits. From ScoMo’s secret ministries to the climate reckoning of the Teal wave and the verdict on Labor’s first year in office, it’s all up for dissection as they take the pulse of the nation. Barrie shares the stage with Amy Remeikis, Niki Savva and Laura Tingle.

Niki Savva is an author and columnist for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. She is a regular panellist on ABC’s the Insiders. She has written four books, beginning with So Greek. Her other three books, chronicling the coups and chaos which beset the Liberal Government – The Road to Ruin, which was awarded best non-fiction prize by ABIA, Plots and Prayers and Bulldozed – have all been best sellers.

She joined the ABC in 2018 as chief political correspondent for 7.30, after a long career in print, notably for The Australian Financial Review.
