Smith & Jones with support act Gracey Denham-Jones (POSTPONED TO 4 DEC)
Sun 4 December at 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO FLOODING AND ROAD CONDITIONS THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND MOVED TO SUNDAY 4 DECEMBER.
Smith & Jones are a duo that was forged from a friendship that developed at a record store in Bathurst. 8 years later and two albums on Abby (piano) & Sophie (guitar) are accomplished musicians who combine two strong voices, which were destined to be joined in harmony. Put simply where ever they play they get straight to the heart of an audience
They have toured extensively and most recently have provided support to Katie Noonan, Sam Buckingham, The Hussy Hicks and Amy Vee. They have appeared at many festivals including Tamworth as well as Inland Sea of Sound. Currently recording their third album (also at Kris’s Boatshed studio), you’re sure to get a chance to listen to some of their new tunes, including their current single Highrise.
Opening the lunchtime session will be one Parkes favourite local artists Gracey Denham-Jones. Gracey is an acoustic singer songwriter who loves to delve into the country side of things. If you’ve enjoyed one of the many live performances that she has given in Parkes or around the Central West, well you’ll be in for a treat here. Performing a set of her own original songs, this will be pure Gracey. An organic sound of just voice accompanied by wood & strings.
Come celebrate Ausmusic month with original live music made and played in the Central West. You won’t be able to live stream or download it, you’ve gotta be there to experience it.
Arts OutWest is pleased to present in conjunction with The Broadway Hotel in Parkes a series of Live & Kicking sessions featuring the Original music of artists from The Central West. Live & Kicking gigs are supported by the Australian Governments Live Music Australia.
Gracey is an acoustic singer songwriter who loves to delve into the country side of things. She has been working away at her craft through her teen years while finishing High School. She did her HSC during those difficult days in 2020. Gracey turned that experience into a positive song called “Wait” We are called in this world to ‘wait’ for the better days; hold on and be strong when times get tough, as there is always a rainbow after every storm. This song became her first recording and was included on the While The World Waits album. Gracey is playing live regularly especially in her hometown of Parkes where she recently played support for Amber Lawrence and Catherine Britt
The What’s On calendar covers arts and heritage events happening across the NSW Central West in the local government areas of Bathurst Region, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western Region, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin.
