Ruby Tuesday – Eva Cassidy at The Agrestic Grocer

Eva Cassidy’s Blues
Ruby Tuesdays at The Agrestic will be THE place to be for live Blues music from the end of March and into April.
The night will feature songs from Eva Cassidy’s albums including Live at Blues Alley, Night bird and Eva By Heart. Eva’s songs will be performed by a group of great friends and talented musicians – Melissa Stanford, Danielle Pearce, Hughie Brown, Paul Burge and Ebbo Brown. Plus, a special guest performance from Eli Stanford.
Eva died in 1996 from melanoma cancer at the age of 33. She was a talent barely recognised during her lifetime, who went on to achieve rapturous posthumous acclaim. Her soul stirring voice has reached people all over the world.
Mick Fleetwood on performing with Eva Cassidy: “Eva was fearless. She wouldn’t play the game. She didn’t choose a song to satisfy someone else; if it didn’t feel right, she wouldn’t do it. In terms of Eva and how she is perceived, received and loved through her music: I am certainly not surprised, but I know when these moments were really, really real. That was when I realised: something is happening now! Eva Cassidy WAS brilliant and she had that childlike, lovely thing that was just … the magic! I call that: IT.”
