Ruby REWIND The Monkeybiz Tribute Band

Tue 25 October at 6:00 pm

Remember the Monkees ? Well even if you don`t Let us remind you . Four young men were picked from obscurity (not quite in the case of Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones , be we’ll tell you more at the show) and placed into the machinery of American network Television in 1966. A sit com was written along with pop songs for the four young men to perform , living together playing in a band. Within a year the Monkeez were selling more records than the Rolling Stones and the Beatles!

The Monkeybiz show band will walk you through the Monkeez song list, and with a 5 piece Band will recreate the Monkeez hits for you . From “Last Train to Clarksville” and I’m a Believer”( written by professional songwriters- one of whom was Neil Diamond- and and played by musicians from the Famous” wrecking crew”) through to their last Psychedelic offering, “The Porpoise Song”, from their very own movie, ”Head”, by the way, directed by Jack Nicholson!

The MonkeyBiz Band are : Mitch Davis – on Drums and percussion . Mitch is a well known and respected musician highly involved in Orange conservatorium Productions and as a teacher.

Rod Dickson on Guitar and singing, from Blue suede dudes to folk music , jazz and all styles in between.

Priscilla Colgan – Keyboard and singing. School music teacher and Piano teacher, who found lockdown fame with Daryl Braithweight’s song “Horses” in her own recording!

Craig Mills – Bassist , with Bogan’s Heroes ,and the Lone star texas swing band. He has now formed his own group and plays guitar in the Mahivisu Moon mission.

Noel Arnett – who plays trumpet and french horn as well as percussion and singing. Noel is a high school music teacher , and is a wealth of knowledge on Monkeez trivia and facts which you will hear at the show!

Come along and be wowed by some of the best and most memorable songs from the 1960s!
