Gang Gang Gallery, Lithgow are thrilled to have completed workshops with pupils from the schools that were involved in the ‘Art In Me’ project, increasing the awareness of endangered species, run by Art Teacher/Facilitator Elaine Butler and Gang Gang Gallery.
The project has been supported by Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network as part of the Australian Government’s response to the 2019-20 bushfires.
It has been an outstanding success.
The next stage will be an Exhibition of 70 Artworks from seven Schools within the Seven Valleys, Capertee Public School, Cullen Bullen Public School, Glen Alice Public School, Hampton Public School, Portland Central School, Wallerawang Public School and Zig Zag Public School at the Gang Gang Gallery from September 1st to 25th.
Students, Families and Schools are invited to come together for the official opening and presentation of awards on Saturday 3rd September at 2pm. Each participating student will receive a certificate and the winners in three categories will be celebrated.
Renowned Artist Anne Graham has had the difficult job of judging the winners for each category and will present the awards on the day.
Following on with this project Elaine Butler will be running a drop in drop out workshop from 10am – 12noon on the 17th September at the Gallery to encourage students that may have missed out on participating in the workshops to come together to complete a joint artwork to be displayed at the Lithgow Readiness Rally to be held at the Union Theatre on Saturday, 15th October.
