Autumn Colours – Proclamation Day
Sun 9 May
FREE
Proclamation Day celebrates the shared history of Bathurst, with the Wiradjuri people and
wider Bathurst community. The event is held at Bicentennial Park in the exact location
Governor Lachlan Macquarie raised the flag marking Bathurst, Australia’s first inland
European settlement in 1815. Included in the celebrations of Proclamation Day is a ceremony
recognising past and present members of Bathurst who have contributed to shaping the town.
The community is invited to explore the rich history of Bathurst, with guided and self-guided
tours of The Delightful Spots Trail.
