Sophie Lampert presents large-scale soft sculptures that celebrate the lives and atypical vocations of brilliant women throughout history. Using delicate beading, sequins and velvet she reimagines the unusual stories and successes into otherworldly sculptures—figures representing past lives that should be revisited and admired.
The Seed is a partnership between Orange Regional Gallery and the National Art School (NAS) which offers recent NAS graduates a unique opportunity to present their first solo exhibition in a public institution. Held annually at Orange Regional Gallery, the program provides exhibition space, curatorial support and publicity for an emerging artist. Sophie Lampert graduated with a Master of Fine Art from NAS in 2020 and has been selected as the second artist of The Seed.
