Omega Ensemble Winter Regional Tour (Oberon)

Sun 31 July at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Music in the Regions and the Malachi Gilmore Hall present one of Australia’s most dynamic chamber music groups, Omega Ensemble, for their Winter Regional Tour.

With a mission to champion extraordinary Australian musical talent through high-energy and impactful performance, Omega Ensemble presents an annual National Touring Program to metropolitan and regional cities across Australia. For their Winter Regional Tour, the Ensemble will perform classical music favourites, from Mozart and Haydn, to a world premiere by legendary Australian composer Carl Vine.

About Omega Ensemble
Earning accolades such as ‘first-rate musicians’ (The Daily Telegraph), ‘the best chamber music outfit in town’ (SMH) and ‘one of Australia’s most forward-thinking ensembles’ (Limelight), Omega Ensemble was appointed as Ensemble-In-Residence at Sydney’s City Recital Hall from 2014-16, has been nominated for multiple APRA/AMCOS Classical Music Awards for Best Performance and Best New Work, and in 2019 was nominated for Artist of the Year in the Limelight Awards. About the Malachi
In the heart of Oberon NSW the Malachi Gilmore Hall launched in April 2022 as a new venue presenting a whole range of performing and visual arts. After forty years standing dormant, the State Heritage listed Art Deco theatre is undergoing a comprehensive restoration. The reactivation of the Malachi will return the Hall to the original purpose for which it was built in 1937 – a cultural and social focal point for the town. About Music in the Regions
Music in the Regions (MitR) is a newly formed independent touring organisation established to connect classical musicians with regional audiences and facilitate transformative musical experiences across New South Wales. These musicians will perform in regions not traditionally visited, reinvigorating regional venues into concert venues, and fostering a vibrant, world-class New South Wales classical music industry. MitR is supported by the NSW Government via Create NSW, and through private philanthropy. To find out more visit www.musicintheregions.com
