DECEMBER 16…CONCERT IN THE COMMON 5–7PM
A Festive Concert at the Common is scheduled for Friday, December 16th commencing at 5pm. There will be a free community BBQ facilitated by Oberon Rotary Club and free coffee from Sarah Coad’s mobile coffee van. Santa has promised to drop by with lollies in his big red sack for the young at heart. The performance will be hosted by Chloe Swannell and her band End Lane…they will be joined on stage throughout the evening by – Malcom Voerman, Kurt Booth, Oberon Public School Choir, Oberon St Joseph’s School Choir, Galloping Gumnuts, Oberon High School Drama Group, and the Ozy Youth Choir Oberon Mob. Adam Callaghan will be our MC for the evening. So bring your friends, family a chair or a rug it promises to be a great evening.
DECEMBER 17…SPECTACULAR NIGHT MARKETS 4.30-8.30PM
The Main Street of Oberon will be closed for this event which will feature a magnificent light display, lots of markets, and food stalls with entertainment provided by the O’Connell Group “The Sound of Life at Sea” supported by local performers. The Oberon Heritage & Collectors Club will host a display of vehicles, our wonderful Emergency Services Organisations will also be there and local butcher extraordinaire Wayne Barker will be cooking a free community BBQ. Main Street businesses will be open with lots of bargains for your shopping pleasure.
DECEMBER 18…FESTIVAL MELODIES @ OBERON RSL 11.00am -12.30PM
This completely free event will be hosted at the Oberon RSL Club, guests will be entertained by Chloe Swannell and her band End Lane who will be inviting you to sing along to a selection of 60/70/80’s songs and the odd Christmas melody. Not knowing the words will be no excuse as song sheets will be provided. The concert will be followed by a free light lunch.
As catering is involved, this is the only event in the three-day program that guests will need to book to attend, this can be simply done by contacting Kathy Sajowitz at 0428 543 693 or you can email email@example.com
Also on Sunday, December 18 all of the Oberon Museums will be open from 11am – 2pm offering free entry and even a cuppa. This includes the Oberon District Museum, OTHR, Skoda/Tatra Museum, Barry Hughes Tractor Shed, and the Oberon Military Museum. The Oberon Masonic Lodge will also have an Open Day and the Oberon Pool will be open offering free entry for the community.
