Nomad String Quartet Workshop
Sat 11 March at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Nomad is a String Quartet with the energy of a rock band and the spontaneity of a jazz ensemble.
This workshop is FREE for all current Orange Youth Orchestra members.
All young orchestral musicians are invited to participate, and observers are welcome also!
The Nomad String Quartet is a Sydney based group that plays with the spontaneity of a jazz ensemble and the energy of a rock band. Thus far, it has given over 150 concerts to over 45,000 people across Sydney.
All members of Nomad are not only highly accomplished classical musicians who have performed with the major Australian orchestras; they are also versed in folk, world, jazz and other improvised music traditions.
The Nomad String Quartet has extensively performed and recorded Danish Folk Songs (as arranged by the Danish String Quartet). These are beautiful, energetic and emotionally powerful pieces that capture the imaginations of both performer and audience.
The Nomads are very excited to teach some of these pieces and impart the freedom of folk music to OYO members in a special one hour workshop on Saturday 11 March 1-2pm
