National Photographic Portrait Prize 2023

The Gallery is hosting the outstanding and always popular National Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition on tour from the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra.

The prize is selected from a national field of entries, reflecting the distinctive vision of Australia’s aspiring and professional portrait photographers and the unique nature of their subjects.

The Cowra Regional Art Gallery is the only New South Wales venue to host the shortlist of 47 portraits, selected from almost 2400 entries.

The winner for 2023 is ‘Ruby’, 2022 by Shea Kirk.

The exhibition will be launched on 16 December at 2pm (free admission). RSVP by 14 December to 6340 2190 or email cowraartgallery@cowra.nsw.gov.au
