Mediaeval Banquet

Fri 21 June at 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Newbridge showground pavilion will be transformed into a mediaeval banquet hall, with feasting, music and Cèilidh dancing.

Imagine the scene: glowing firepits light your way to the door, where you are awed at the sight of draperies and bunting swagged across the room. Flames leap in the old fireplace and flicker from candelabra, catching the gleam of mead in your custom-made souvenir cup. The aroma of roasting meats, baking bread and mulled wine fill the air. Friar Ken welcomes you and introduces The Scotsman, a musician who swapped the dreich drizzle of Scotland for the sunny shores of Sydney … and now a nippy night in Newbridge. The Scotsman entertains you as meal service begins: soup with crusty bread, mains of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, turkey and vegetables, and dessert including apple pies and cheese platter. A drinks package of wine, beer, alcoholic and non-alcoholic mulled wine, and soft drinks is included in the ticket price.
