Cowra Cancer Action Group – Locals for Locals Exhibition
Sun 2 May - Mon 31 MayEntry fee
The Cowra Cancer Action Group is excited to announce an upcoming event “Locals for Locals”. An art exhibition showcasing the Central West’s finest art.
Local artists have donated prestigious pieces of art to auction on the 29th May, with all commissions going to the Cancer Action Group.
The art will be on exhibition for the month of May at the Cowra Japanese Gardens.
The Cowra Cancer Action Group was formed in 1998 following a meeting to address the needs of many cancer patients in Cowra.
A campaign was launched for a second Oncology nurse, with tremendous support from the Cowra Community. A new and improved Chemotherapy ward was built entirely furnished with state-of-the-art medical equipment and furniture. All funds were provided by the Cowra community through the Cowra Cancer Action Group.
The group also provides financial support through the Community Chest to help cancer patients in the community to assist with medical bills or electricity bills.
All money raised remains in Cowra and well over $300,000 has been spent providing care and resources for the local community affected by cancer.
The group has been ably assisted in their fundraising by Ann & Glenn Morton through their generosity of time and paintings with many thousands of dollars raised a result.
The “Locals for Locals” exhibition is supported by many talented local artists including; Greg Daly, Inel Date, Mary Ford, Bernice Lavender & Tracey Mackie
Some Artworks have been donated which will be auctioned off at the Cowra golf club on Saturday 29th May with all monies going to CAG.
Opens Sunday 2 May at 2pm. Runs to end of May.
Tickets for the Auction night will be on sale at $15pp and includes nibbles
Works will be for sale with commission going to CAG.
