Live & Kicking: The Safety of Life at Sea
Sat 24 September at 7:30 pm$10
The Safety of Life at Sea are thrilled to be bringing their live stage show to The Malachi Gilmore Hall in support of their latest album Let the River Go – a heady mix of original blues, soul, 60’s/70’s rock and Americana. Recorded at singer/pianist/songwriter Kris Schubert’s Boatshed studio in O’Connell. The album builds on the style and vibe of 2017’s release Foxy’s Farm.
The Safety of Life at Sea are a four piece band which includes a rhythm section which consists of Lian Wong on bass and Tony Bibby on drums/percussion who take a leaf out of the books of Motown and Stax. Stephen Helman on guitar throws in some pages from the book of Southern Blues left at the crossroads. Mix this up into a musical gumbo and you who have the sound of a band that went for a weekend in New Orleans and never quite came back.
Come and ride a sonic wave or two with The Safety of Life at Sea, Live and Kicking at The Malachi Gilmore Hall while you can. You won’t be able to live stream or download it, you’ve gotta be there to experience it. Book your tickets now.
Arts OutWest is pleased to present in conjunction with The Malachi Gilmore Hall a series of Live & Kicking Meet the Songwriter sessions featuring the Original music of Central West artists. Live & Kicking gigs are supported by the Australian Governments Live Music Australia.
