Laurence Edwards and Fiona Gruber in Conversation
Sat 4 February at 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join Laurence Edwards in Conversation with Fiona Gruber followed by a screening of ‘Yoxman – While the Whole World Changes Tune’
Fiona Gruber is a journalist and producer with thirty years’ experience writing and broadcasting across the arts as a commentator, profile writer, and reviewer.
She’ll be in conversation with Laurence Edwards exploring how he goes about making his monumental bronze figures at his foundry in Suffolk, England, discussing the changing face of masculinity in art and his dedication to the large scale male form, and the influence of the Australian environment on his work.
A screening of Yoxman – While the Whole World Changes Tune will follow the discussion.
The film follows sculptor Laurence Edwards as he undertakes the most significant challenge of his career: the creation of a monumental 26ft figure for the Suffolk landscape.
Laurence Edwards: A Gathering of Uncertainties is a touring exhibition from Messum Wiltshire.
