Justin Trendall: New Work

In his latest series of textiles Justin Trendall celebrates subjective and significant histories, past and present, threading the names of literary greats and Aboriginal heroes across patterns of commemorative lacework. From Gertrude Stein and James Joyce to Aboriginal hero Pemulwuy and Bandjalung artist Djon Mundine, Trendall creates surprising associative trajectories, including to place – in this exhibition, the tiny rural town of Kandos, NSW.
