Inland Sea of Sound: Program of Free Events

5:20pm Fast Cars Drummers

Bathurst own local drumming troupe, formed for the Fast Cars project with performances in March 2023 as part of the BMEC Annual Season. Led by Rob Shannon

5:30pm LEAP (Local Emerging Artists Program)

A selection of Bathurst’s finest emerging musicians support by the BMEC Local Stages Program

6:10pm Carillon Recital

Featuring a new work commissioned from leading Carillonist Daniel Guo.Daniel has been an Honorary Carillonist at the University of Sydney since 2016. The commissioned work is called “Of Waves and Calm Seas”.

6:45pm The Gagliardies

From the quirky mind of Beeswax and Bottlecaps, this comedy duo have an unhealthy obsession for laughter and the ridiculously silly. With a mixing pot of variety, vaudeville and circus, these two have travelled the world atop their penny farthing, dragging suitcases of shenanigans and bring giggles to the masses. Perfect for ages 3 to 103

7:20pm Molly Little

Molly began her professional career in 2017. She spent six months performing in Greece before working for a circus in Italy, where she learnt her fire skills. She travelled in Europe and South East Asia before returning home to Bathurst due to Covid-19. Molly loves to bring her fire performances to Bathurst!

7:45pm The Gagliardies

From the quirky mind of Beeswax and Bottlecaps, this comedy duo have an unhealthy obsession for laughter and the ridiculously silly.   Perfect for ages 3 to 103

   Saturday 25th February
1:30pm Sync or Swim

Fancy a dip?   Come witness “Extra Bimbo” the 1952 Olympic synchronised swim team hopefuls, as they prepare for the upcoming gold medal competition in Helsinki. Their sculls are strong, eggbeater kicks unbeatable and they are ready to steal the show

2pm to 5pm The Mask Family – roving performers.

Ignite your imagination with the genuinely wonderful Lolly Pop Ladies. Engage in playful games as they wander through the crowd.

The English Bobbies bring hilarious slapstick, comic timing and occasional buffoonery to keep the crowd laughing.

2:30pm Flamenco Red

Flamenco Red is the sound of beautiful songs, flamenco dance and world rhythms entwined and inspired by proud cultures that express the celebration of life. Flamenco Red draws from collective Sephardi, Arabic, Afro-Cuban and Spanish ancestries in a bold contemporary Australian sound.

Featuring flamenco-contemporary dancer, Annalouise Paul and authentic flamenco cantor, Rafael Alcolea accompanied by top musicians, Ricky Kugler on Afro-Cuban percussion, Marduk Gault on flamenco guitar and special guest, Trevor Brown on flute and electronics.

7:10pm Corey Pickett

An exciting display of exceptional tricks with quick wit comedy! Corey takes you through many of the circus stunts at his disposal, using audience participation and high energy. “Corey!!!” will get the audience whipped into a frenzy and screaming for more. From 5 ball juggling to a 5 foot unicycle, you can guarantee Corey will enthral and entertain.
