In April 1972, at the invitation of Mrs Margaret Voerman and Mrs Pamela Martin, Mrs Roma
Field, President and Mrs Vere, Chairman of Sydney Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild. NSW,
travelled to Bathurst to form the Bathurst Group. Members of the public were invited and as a
result the inaugural meeting, a group of the Embroiderers’ Guild was formed in Bathurst. Mrs
Margaret Voerman remains active and produces impressive Gold Work. Abercrombie House
and the Bathurst Group will exhibit their collections and local members’ work from May 18-21,
2023, open to the public for an entrance fee during regular hours.
